Ο Ζαν Ροσφόρ (Jean Rochefort, 29 Απριλίου 1930 – 9 Οκτωβρίου 2017) ήταν Γάλλος ηθοποιός με μια καριέρα που διήρκεσε πάνω από πέντε δεκαετίες. Ο Ροσφόρ γεννήθηκε στο Παρίσι και οι γονείς του κατάγονταν από την Βρετάνη. Εκπαιδεύτηκε στο Λύκειο Πιερ Κορνέιγ της Ρουέν. Σε ηλικία 19 ετών εισήχθη στην Δραματική Σχολή του Παρισιού. Αργότερα εισήχθη στο Εθνικό Ωδείο. Μετά την ολοκλήρωση των στρατιωτικών του υποχρεώσεων το 1953, εργάστηκε ως ηθοποιός θεάτρου για επτά χρόνια. Εκεί έγινε αντιληπτός για την ικανότητά του να παίζει τόσο δραματικούς όσο και κωμικούς ρόλους. Τότε έγινε ηθοποιός της τηλεόρασης και του κινηματογράφου. Έχει επίσης εργαστεί ως σκηνοθέτης.

Αφού πρώτα έπαιξε δεύτερους ρόλους στις ταινίες CartoucheCaptain Fracasse και Merveilleuse Angélique, ο Ζαν Ροσφόρ έπαιξε τον πρώτο μεγάλο ρόλο του στην ταινία Hearth Fires (1972) με την Αννί Ζιραρντό ως την σύζυγό του και την Κλωντ Ζαντ ως την κόρη τους. Σε αυτή την δραματική ταινία ενσάρκωσε έναν άνδρα που εγκαταλείπει την οικογένειά του για δέκα χρόνια προτού επιστρέψει. Τέσσερα χρόνια αργότερα πρωταγωνίστησε στην κωμωδία An Elephant Can Be Extremely Deceptive ενσαρκώνοντας έναν άνδρα που ρισκάρει την παντρεμένη ζωή του με την Ντανιέλ Ντελόρμ για χάρη της εξωσυζυγικής σχέσης του με την Άννυ Ντυπερέ. Χάρη σε αυτή την κωμωδία, ο Ροσφόρ κέρδισε μια τεράστια δημοφιλία. Την δεκαετία του 1990 επέστρεψε στην κωμωδία με την ταινία Les Grands Ducs όπου πρωταγωνίστησε μαζί με άλλους δυο ηθοποιούς της γενιάς του που είχαν παρόμοια καριέρα με αυτόν, τον Φιλίπ Νουαρέ και τον Ζαν-Πιερ Μαριέλ.

Είχε προταθεί για να παίξει τον πρωταγωνιστικό ρόλο στην ταινία The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, αφότου θεωρήθηκε ως “ο τέλειος Δον Κιχώτης” από τον σκηνοθέτη Τέρρυ Τζίλιαμ. Ο Ροσφόρ έμαθε αγγλικά αποκλειστικά για αυτόν τον ρόλο. Δυστυχώς όμως, μεταξύ των άλλων προβλημάτων από την παραγωγή, άρχισε να υποφέρει από δισκοπάθεια. Όντας ανίκανος να κάνει γυρίσματα επί μήνες, η παραγωγή αυτή ακυρώθηκε. Ένα ντοκιμαντέρ, με τον τίτλο Lost in La Mancha, πραγματοποιήθηκε για αυτήν την αποτυχημένη παραγωγή.

Το 1960 παντρεύτηκε την Alexandra Moscwa, με την οποία απέκτησε τρία παιδιά : την Μαρί (1962), την Ζουλιέν (1965) και τον Γκιγιόμ. Με την ηθοποιό-σκηνοθέτη Νικόλ Γκαρσία είχε αποκτήσει έναν γιο, τον Πιερ. Από τον δεύτερο γάμο του με την Φρανσουάζ Βιντάλ είχε αποκτήσει δυο κόρες, την Φρανσουάζ (1990) και την Κλεμένς (1992).
